An Affectionate Gesture
He thought I was asking for a high five. But when he realized that I was aiming for his head to give him a pat, to compliment him, he reached for my hand, held it softly. Slowly, he placed it on his head and stroked it affectionately through the strands of his hair. He shut his eyes for the fondness he felt.
I shivered. It was the sudden upbeat, rapid, forbidden throbbing of my heart that ordered me to take my hand back.
I looked down. My two hands were calmly resting on my keyboard. I glanced back at the screen and saw his endearing smile.
Simple pleasure. But why did I ever learn that LDRs don’t work, too early?
